Laparoscopic hysterectomy
Laparoscopic hysterectomy is a minimally invasive surgery to remove the uterus using small cuts in the abdomen and a camera (laparoscope).
🔍 What is removed?
Uterus (with or without cervix)
Sometimes also:
Ovaries
Fallopian tubes
🩺 Types of Laparoscopic Hysterectomy
Total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) – uterus + cervix removed
Subtotal (partial) – uterus removed, cervix kept
LAVH (Laparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy) – partly laparoscopic, removed vaginally
⚙️ How the procedure is done
Small incisions (0.5–1 cm) in abdomen
A camera (laparoscope) is inserted
Surgical tools are used to detach uterus
Uterus is removed (often through vagina)
Incisions are closed
