Diagnostic hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to examine the inside of the uterus (uterine cavity) using a thin, lighted instrument called a hysteroscope. 🔍 What is it used for? It helps doctors diagnose various uterine conditions, such as: Abnormal uterine bleeding Infertility issues Recurrent miscarriages Uterine fibroids or polyps Adhesions (scar tissue inside the uterus) Congenital uterine abnormalities ⚙️ How is the procedure done? A hysteroscope is gently inserted through the vagina and cervix into the uterus. The uterus is expanded using fluid or gas to allow clear visualization.
